Recently attended a hugely informative and enjoyable course at Printhaus, and am already looking forward to my next one. The Cardiff Artist's Books event last summer was superb as well. Great to see such a huge range of fantastic work.

We loved the Minecraft skins printing workshop in half term!
- Elkie Barton (Minecraft workshop)
Fantastic Minecraft workshop today. My 6 year old son loved it and is super proud of his art work. Lovely ladies there who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return. Thank you.

I really enjoyed the Back to Basics class and learned so much about the process, and had a lot of fun experimenting. Everybody I met in Printhaus (and Dusty Knuckle) were lovely and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in printing.

We use the Printhaus to print our T-shirts and tote bags for Spit & Sawdust. Everyone is lovely, friendly and knowledgeable, they give you loads of options and advice to help choose what you want, the quality of their work is top notch, and their prices are great too. We would highly recommend them!

Had recently been on the tshirt printing course which was immense! Decided to go to the back to basics course which was bought for me as a gift. Both courses were great and i learnt a great deal. The tutors and staff we so friendly and informative. I would recommend the printhaus to all.... Thanks again guys!
- Steve Richardson (t-shirt printing course)
The Back to basics was a great introduction to screen printing for me. Jude took us through the whole process and I took home prints I was proud of. The set up is great with ongoing one to one or just get on with it access. A great facility with wonderful staff. Dusty Knuckle pizza and drinks afterwards were an added bonus. Many thanks Jude and Erin
- Alison Mott (Back to Basics)
I had a flipping great day on the back to basics screen printing course. It felt both informative but relaxed, there was a lot of room literally and figuratively for play with what we could create. Jude was super supportive, and Erin was a great hand. I love the Printhaus as a venue, and having the ability to access such a well kept and community feeling space is an asset to Cardiff creatives. Go and have a play if you're curious, you might spark a passion.

Had the most amazing day @thePrinthaus!! It started as a gift……I met Shaun to discuss my ideas and booked for my 1:1 print session. Had 2 dopplegangers (Polly & Sybil) gate crash, but not thrown by any of this and in his incredibly professional, calm and artistic manner Shaun managed to share his experience, demonstrate and teach me lots of new techniques. It was a great hands on, get stuck in day. My challenge to print a large piece of FR upholstery fabric has been totally smashed! I’m absolutely over the moon with the fab result! Thank you all so much

To have the Portable Press come to us was a fantastic gathering activity for our mix of ages, characters and tshirt sizes! The Printhaus team where incredible, with the right amount of energy, skill, and patience, which meant that before long we were all wearing our own printed t’s – and proudly. These guys are the Don’s for facilitating creativity, community, and collaboration within Cardiff. So sleeves up, and have a go. Big love and thanks, from The Little Man Coffee Co

A rare and special community of artists and makers. As a member of 2 and a half years, I was very reluctant to leave (but commuting from Birmingham would have been a ball ache) but visiting for their markets and open studios are equally awesome experiences!
- Stephen Hall
I went to the Printhaus to see if they could screenprint onto a skate deck. Jude and Tom were super helpful and did an amazing job. The Snapped Up markets are also great and worth a visit.
- Matt Joyce
Jude and Tom are so welcoming and always helpful! The space has so much character and the various designers and makers that work in the building make the Printhaus a great place to hang out and get creative!
- Diana Oliveira
When we booked up the Back to Basics course we were looking for a creative day out that would allow us to learn and experiment a bit. And that is exactly what we got. We were made very welcome at The Printhaus and enjoyed a lovely pizza outside in our lunch break.Despite the fact our group had a mix of ages we found that we were all really well supported in learning the process of screen printing and all came away feeling like we’d created something we were proud of. One print still hangs on our wall and we even used some of the resulting work on our company website. The trickiest thing was getting us out at the end of the day! We’d book it up again in a heartbeat.

Printhaus is a great hidden gem. Anything screenprinting related is possible. Screenprinting service, training and supplies. I used the one to one service and I got done what I needed, no problems and in a friendly atmosphere.

Last year Jude and Alyn from Printhaus ran a brilliant mono-printing workshop for us as part of our 'Creative Tech Cafe' programme, at Grange Gardens Pavilion. The sessions gave local young people the opportunity to use technology in creative ways. The 'Printing with discarded tech' session was one of the most successful of the series. The children loved the various stages of the workshop from smashing up and dismantling machinery, to using glue-guns to make a stamp from the loose parts and then inking up and printing from them and taking home their printed postcard and recycled stamp at the end. Would love to get them back again sometime to run another workshop

I have been friends with the good folks at the Printhaus for many years, and have used the printing services they offer a few times now. The quality of the prints are fantastic and would highly recommend them as a place for people to get introduced to the world of screen printing in the South Wales area. It's also a great place to meet other likeminded creative people.

I love Printhaus: we are letterpress printers in Bristol, and I know that to create a print workshop with a brilliant atmosphere and that is so well equipped doesn’t happen by chance. It is a brilliant place, with brilliant people, doing exciting work.

The Printhaus have been delivering workshops to Vision 21’s School Holiday project for two years. The project, which is supported by Children in Need, focuses on building social skills and interaction through working with others in a fun and creative environment, for young people with learning needs. Each experience we have had with the Printhaus has been excellent; activities have been adapted to suit the learner’s abilities, varied needs and to challenge creativity. The tutor’s actively encourage and support learners to explore their creativity and achieve professional outcomes through a range of printmaking techniques and processes. Working individually and as a group the young people have explored screen printing, relief and mono-printing, printing with flowers and found objects; creating a variety of pieces including postcards, posters, t-shirts, books and a large fabric wall hanging. Participants were given the opportunity to be involved in the whole printmaking process; preparing screens, using machinery and were encouraged to make decisions regarding content, colour and size. Learners have been made to feel welcome by all, and have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to work in a professional studio, use specialised equipment and work beside skilled and imaginative staff. All participants have enjoyed working in such a creative, fun and friendly environment, I would highly recommend the Printhaus to any organisation or individual who would like to explore and build their artistic knowledge and skills with support provided by highly skilled staff with a can do attitude.
We have been using the Printhaus for 2 years now, what a super creative space, what a super asset to the creative arts, and we will be checking in next year! We take our students to the space to utilise the extensive facilities and for the unique atmosphere of the space. Jude the Co-founder and Workshop Manager has run specific workshop sessions over a 4 week period with our BA (hons) Interior Design students. With the guidance of Jude and the Printhaus, our students have gained invaluable design skills and developed new ways of thinking through the process of print. One of the key qualities of the Printhaus is that it is a true artist run space, the place Ouse's ‘arthouse’ and that’s not something that can be mimicked, it has to be real. Its a gem inCardiff creative quarter, understated but leading the way in the wider world of community run spaces. Theres nothing else like it in Cardiff and I’m not sure there's anything better in Bristol or London, its really a very special place that should be celebrated by the City.

As designers, we're so used to looking at screens and pushing pixels that sometimes we forget about how to get into a real creative mess (a good one though!). We absolutely loved our time with Shaun at The Printhaus, who gave us just enough information to get us started, but allowed us to get really creative in the print studio and experiment with texture and mark making. The studio is so relaxed but really well equipped and we felt comfortable sharing our ideas with Shaun, who gave us brilliant advice on how to turn our flat designs into really vibrant pieces. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again, loved the vibe and felt so inspired by our trip! Thanks guys!"

Even though you might spend five days a week with your team, sometimes doing something totally different can really get everyone revved up. We had a great day at PrintHaus—it was great to look at a screen without pixels for once! Big thanks to Nigel who was a brilliant teacher, and put up with our nonsense without complaint! If you're looking for a day out with your team, we'd strongly recommend this place”
We love working with Printhaus! From printing our designs and logos onto bags and t-shirts to running 'Print your own' activities at our events and workshops they never fail to deliver. Their staff are always friendly, professional and extremely hard working. It's great to see an independent, local business supporting so many independent designers, artists and social enterprises, as well as providing an inspiring space for the community.

A very worthwhile day – and thinking about a return visit in the not too distant future!
A&O Studios developed a project entitled 'O Gan I Gelf' (From Song To Art). The concept behind the project was to create art in the form of T-Shirt designs inspired by Welsh language songs. Part of the project was to run workshops and work with students from schools and colleges in South Wales to generate designs that would work as T shirt designs. We had a great experience with Printhaus and they were able to accommodate us at short notice. They gave us a comprehensive introduction to the screen printing process and by the afternoon we were all busy printing our own designs. The project was a great success and we will be back with further projects in the near future.

I have just finished my one to one session with Shaun at the Printhaus and I can honestly say it is possibly the best £75 I have ever spent. I was initially expecting a generic one size fits all structure, but Shaun arranged the session completely around what I wanted to focus on and achieve. I have recently purchased a screen printing set up and was able to bring my own exposure lamps which we were then able to spend some time on and determine the correct exposure time for my work going forward (Shaun even attached them to a board for me). I wanted to focus primarily on white ink and the best applications for both plastisol and water based and this is what our practical time was spent doing. Shaun covered everything from ink application and different mesh counts to effective squeegee technique and flash dry/curing time. Being new to screen printing and needing to be able to reach a competent level as fast as possible this session was so helpful. I had an abundance of questions that were all answered and I left feeling that I had cleared through the haze that online forums and videos had left me with. Cant recommend highly enough.
