Maggie's postcards
Over 8 weeks, a group of cancer patients explored 8 printmaking techniques to create postcards for others going through the same thing. Together we noted a shift in the experience of making: "I would have appreciated something like this, so feels good to create for others"
"Normally, my cancer makes me focus purely inward on my own body. Mixing these bright layers for an unknown patient down the hall at Velindre felt like pulling a curtain open to let the sun back in."
"Knowing this card would land in someone else's hands made me take extra care. My hands usually shake from treatment, but they were completely steady while placing the leaves on the paper."
"Carving into the lino is physically demanding. But doing it knowing it was going to be a tangible piece of hope for someone else turned the exhaustion into pure strength."
