ABOUT THIS COURSE

The only 4-WEEK RISO course in Wales - getting back to the roots of Riso. Just our hands, paper, and the Riso! It's something absolutely anyone can do and should do. But we would say that.

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING

Week 1 - Introduction to Riso Get to know the machine from the ground up - how it works, what it does, and the differences between the Model EZ and MZ. Especially, the scanning modes and the different effects it produces. By the end of the day you'll know the studio, the guys you'll be spending the next few weeks with and have the basics down for the rest of the course.

Week 2 - “BYOP” Collage with found papers and pictures: Experimenting with coloured tissue paper, coloured magazines and coloured paper.

Week 3 - DIY Textures: Think this might just be our favourite of the weeks! Getting hands-on with ink and mark-making - wonky, wavy textures and experimenting with the classic “Wobbly-Scans” technique.

Week 4 - Play Day: We’ll be taking inspiration from each other by the final week - layering your favourite combinations, swapping prints and trying out your most random ideas. Give yourself a pat on the back for taking time out to just play - you never know where it might take you…
