Whether you’re a beginner, have the basic know-how or are fully invested in the process, this Lino printing workshop is for you! 

Working into A6 Lino onto A5 paper, you will learn to create your own 2-colour lino prints using the ‘Jigsaw method’. Using one block, we will be separating it into multiple parts and inking each part a different colour, piecing it back together and printing. You will explore how to develop your own ideas into suitable designs, the basics of cutting, inking and pressing with all the nitty-gritty in-between! 

You will be using traditional grey linoleum and will be drawing directly onto to the surface of the block. So please prepare sketches and designs beforehand. Things to consider in regards to this are:

• Your use of positive and negative space. 

• Line size - smallest tools we provide are around 3/4 mm 

• Filling the the size of the Block (A6)

• Don’t over complicate your designs

• Your image will flip when printing. Optional - bring flipped images and sketches to draw from. 

• How is your image going to be cut up and pieced back together? 

• Colours

• Time frames.

• Bring either a series of small thumbnail compositional designs or several sketches that we can work from.

• Photos/images for drawing inspiration

By the end of the session you will have created your own edition of Lino prints and leave with the acquired knowledge to continue your printmaking journey!
